While most of you must be busy with last minute sugary beautiful baking ( I don't want to believe there are people who are all planned and relaxed at the moment, its important for my happy life) I want you to make a little room for the ugly green stuff in your kitchen.

Mango Mint Chutney
Chutney's are an inseparable part of Indian cuisine. Be it pakora (deep fried vegetable fritters), samosa (deep fried triangular pastry with veg and non veg fillings), tandoori chicken, cutlets or kebab, everything is paired with a chutney.

Gobi Kasuri Methi - Cauliflower Curry With Dry Fenugreek Leaves
There have been a lot of celebrations going on lately on the blog, first with the pineapple halwa for Diwali and then mutton korma for Eid and while I celebrate my birthday today, there was no room for more sweets or meat. All I wanted to settle with was simple homemade food.

Pineapple Halwa - Celebrating Diwali
Diwali means different things to different people all over India. People worship different Hindu Gods, have different customs to observe the religious importance of the day. Famously known as festival of lights, for me it is exactly that.

Lemon Panacotta with Lavender Cream
I think its time to look through my pantry. Its true, I have a compulsive disorder. Its not diagnosed by any doctor yet but I know if I went to one, they have a special name for people with my kind of disorder. Like compulsive food hoarding disorder, food insecurity disorder, may be something like war times disorder. Well, isn't it true, during wars people stock food? I don't know. Its not like I ever witnessed war. Or may be I did when I was 3 years old, the Gulf war of 1990's.

Mix Dal Tadka - Indian Lentils Soup
I was having a hard time naming this recipe of dal which is a generic name for Indian lentils in Hindi. What you think dal actually is ? A soup? A stoup? A stew ? Its certainly not a curry that is what I'm certain of. I actually kind of get irritated when every Indian dish is named as curry. So I decided to stick with soup!

Garlic Feta Pull Aparts
I had a lot of Feta cheese lazying around in the fridge. I love this cheese. Its salt, tangy and creamy. I don't want to get into where it is originally from because every country wants to claim it there own. But I don't judge those countries after all its Feta, whats not to pride in it.

Beetroot Raita
I'm not a great fan of beetroot but lately I have been coming around it. I do love the color though and even if I'm not so inclined for using up the beetroot and color calls on me. They do.
