The other day when the clouds were strikingly gray and the sun disappeared behind them, we hit the streets assuming it's going to rain. I have been meaning to photograph the essence of monsoons in India and the early rains this year were quite promising. But, as nature had it, it didn't rain. The pleasant weather however had the streets bustling with people (and animals) eager to enjoy the street food with family and friends.
So, here it is, a day (actually less than half an hour, that's the maximum you can be with an infant at home ) on the streets of Udaipur. Hope you enjoy the photographs.
Great clicks! Thanks for making me travel while sitting on my chair.

DeleteOMG! I wanna go home now! Bhutta! And Kharbuja in the hot hot summer (memory: Grandma's concept of an after school snack cut into long wedges with the skin slightly off to prevent your hands from getting dirty!) and how I can forget mirindaaaaa :D .. Thank you for the lovely photos and the bout of nostalgia at my office desk ;)

ReplyDeleteYour photos are technically beautiful, of course, but it's really because they are so full of your heart and soul that they are so compelling and memorable.
ReplyDeleteKulsum, you take most amazing pictures and they are all very inspiring! The colors and texture of the pictures are simply beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI had bookmarked this - waiting for some relaxed time to go through your post. Beautiful! I've been to Udaipur a long time back and all the pictures brought back such a sense of déja vu! SOmetimes the photographs are looking like realistic paintings. Couldn't decide which one was my favourite - the camel bride!
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs. Its the streets of any city that portray the real essence of it. My favorite though is the empty Miranda bottle pic. :D
